Slow Cooker Mulled Cider

1 gallon apple cider
1 medium orange
1 x 1.5 inch piece fresh ginger
1 x 3 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
Orange slices for serving (optional)

Fill 5 quart slow cooker with cider. Add fresh ingredients — cut orange into 1/4 inch thick rounds; cut ginger into 1/4 inch slices and add to slow cooker. Add spices — put small spices in tea ball for ease of serving. Slow cook in cooker for 4 hours on low. Serve hot.
