Donna's Cocoa Bean Brownies

1/2 cup cocoa
1/3 cup canola oil
1 15-ounce can black beans or kidney beans, drained
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350° F. Butter an 8" x 8" or a 7" x 11" baking pan. In a large food processor or blender, combine all ingredients except nuts. Blend well until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until just set in the center. Do not over-bake.
