Sea Foam Divinity

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup hot water
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup pecan pieces

Cook sugars, water, corn syrup and salt, and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture boils. Cook to hard ball stage (250°) and remove from heat. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Pour syrup over egg whites while beating constantly at high speed. Add vanilla. Beat until soft peaks form and mixture loses its gloss (about 10 minutes). Stir in pecan pieces. Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper. Yield: 3 dozen.
