Candy Lassies

1 1/2 cups gluten free flour mix
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
2/3 cup butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons molasses
2 large peppermint sticks, finely crushed

Frosting

2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons soft butter
red food coloring
1 to 3 tablespoons milk

  1. Sift dry ingredients.
  2. Cream butter and sugars.
  3. Blend egg and molasses into butter and sugars.
  4. Add dry ingredients and 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy.
  5. Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350°.

Cool and frost. Use remaining crushed peppermint stick on frosting.
