Combine beef and pork; add remaining ingredients. Mix well (it will be dry). Roll into 1-inch balls. Brown in skillet.
Sauce:Mix sauce ingredient together in 5-quart dutch oven. Simmer 10 minutes. Add the tamale balls and simmer until cooked through, about 20 to 30 minutes. If sauce is too tart, add 1 or 2 teaspoons sugar.
